The family eventually added wine production to this property. Several vineyards were planted and, in 1901, a traditional winery was built, with thick, white adobe walls and a high ceiling, all topped by a magnificent Portuguese tile roof. It was also on John's initiative that the first plants of the Alicante Bouschet variety were brought from France. Today, there are 38 hectares divided into several plots, the oldest being those where the Alicante Bouschet is found.
