Alberto Almeida

It was in Terras de Sicó — a region south of Coimbra, integrated in the IG Beira Atlântico — that a “garage” project called Vinha das Penicas emerged, with the concept “Vinha das Penicas – Vinhedos Antigos”. Its face is Alberto Almeida, who aims to create wines that express the authenticity and uniqueness of the region without compromise. In addition to the dominant Baga and Fernão Pires grape varieties, there are a dozen other native varieties, both red and white.
