Quinta do Isaac

Isaac Paiva, a businessman based in Switzerland but passionate about his country, met Luís Lopes, a man of the Douro and the land, more than two decades ago – in 1994 – and shared with him the dream of one day producing a Douro wine. To this end, he challenged his friend – a profound connoisseur of the region’s best terroirs – to find a small property capable of producing excellent wines with their own personality and identity, and thus achieve the authentic expression of their terroir through the practice of organic farming. Since then, and after a careful selection process, in 2012 he acquired a small property of 1.36 hectares, right in the heart of the region, in Chanceleiros do Douro, near Pinhão. It has magnificent conditions for viticulture – low altitude, southern exposure and schist soils. Excellence, commitment and passion are the three pillars on which we build our future. True to itself and true to its purpose, Quinta do Isaac has created its own personality, culture, philosophy and concept.
