Miguel's House

Casa dos Migueis: its history dates back to 1927, but there had already been a connection to the vineyards and their cultivation for many decades before. In 1989, the restructuring of the vineyards began, using noble varieties from the region, which led to the production of excellent wines. Of the 7.50 hectares of the farm, in a single plot, around 60% are planted with white varieties, such as Viosinho, Rabigato, Fernão Pires, Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Sercial and Códega do Larinho. In terms of red varieties, the focus was on Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and Tinta Barroca, aged between 5 and 25 years. The quality of the grapes is due to the location and exposure of the vineyards and the soils where they are planted, in addition to the climate with specific conditions that characterise the Douro region.
