Raul Riba D'Ave

The love and connection for wine has always been present in the family. His great-grandfather, Raul Ferreira (Count of Riba D'Ave), and later his grandfather, were owners of Quinta do Barão and wine producers in Carcavelos. Raul began his professional career in Argentina, at Finca Flichman. Once in Portugal, it was at Taylor's that he acquired an in-depth knowledge of the Douro region. He is currently a producer in several regions of Portugal, an activity he carries out in parallel with that of managing partner of Direct Wine, a training center and national distributor of highly specialized wine brands from all over the world. Producer of the renowned Douro Reserva Vinhas Improváveis, he produces wines in the Douro, Dão and Bairrada regions. Raul Riba D'Ave uses the ancient tradition of making blended wines with the traditional grape varieties of each region to produce wines with identity and balance, which stand out for their elegance and persistent finish.
