Joaquim Costa Vargas Red is a wine with a ruby ​​color with violet hues, aromas of very ripe red fruits, with notes of vanilla, balanced and well integrated with the wood. Some notes of sweet or macerated black fruit. Jam, plum and some spice. The palate is velvety, round and soft, rich and “greedy”. A very pleasant and intense, but balanced combination. With a good structure of tannins, although soft, and balanced acidity.

  • Soil: Produced at Herdade das Assentes de Baixo, from carefully selected and hand-harvested grapes of the Aragonês, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet and Syrah varieties.
  • Winemaking: Vinified in lagares using the traditional complete fermentation process, with blanket submersion and fermentation temperatures of 30ºC. Cold maceration for 48 hours. Delastage and pumping over with aeration.
  • Tasting Notes: It has a ruby color with violet hues, an aroma of very ripe red fruits, with notes of vanilla, balanced and well integrated with the wood. Some notes of sweet or macerated black fruit. Jam, plum and some spice. The palate is velvety, round and soft, rich and “greedy”. A very pleasant and intense, but balanced combination.
