Casal Sta Maria Pinot Noir Grande Reserva is a ruby-colored wine with brilliant reflections and a shallow core. The aroma presents vibrant notes of cherry and ripe raspberry, evolving into earthy and balsamic nuances, with hints of mushroom and pine, and the depth and complexity of barrel aging. The palate is rich with several layers of flavors, red fruit, pine needles, and forest floor, firm and elegant tannins with notes from prolonged barrel aging. The acidity lends freshness throughout the tasting.

Technical Sheet
  • Soil: Grapes from the original vineyards, planted in 2006 by Mr. Barão Bodo von Bruemmer, located in Casal Sta. Maria.
  • Winemaking: The hand-picked grapes underwent a rigorous selection process in the vineyard and in the winery. After a light crushing of the grapes, cold maceration followed in small open lagares for 5 days. Fermentation took 3 weeks with daily pump-overs. After fermentation was complete, the lagares were closed and kept that way for 2 weeks.
  • Tasting Notes: Ruby color, with brilliant reflections and a shallow core. The aroma shows vibrant notes of ripe cherry and raspberry, which evolve into earthy and balsamic nuances, with hints of mushrooms and pine, and depth and complexity from the barrel aging.   • Maturation: 24 months ageing in 225L French oak barrels
  • Serve: Between 16ºC and 18ºC

  • Conservation: Can benefit from bottle aging for 10 years.
  • Food Pairing: Harmonizes perfectly with roasted poultry (such as duck or quail), wild mushroom dishes, grilled red meats, and roasted oily fish.
