Piano Tinto is a red wine from the Douro region, with a contemporary, intense and elegant profile, reflecting the versatility and exciting relevance of the wines from this region. Deep ruby ​​colour. It is characterised by an intense and complex aroma dominated by ripe red fruits (blackcurrant and strawberry), black fruits (plum) and floral notes (orange blossom). In the mouth it is intense, with excellent volume, balanced acidity and good quality tannins. The finish is long and complex.

  • Soil: Located in the heart of Cima-Corgo, in the parish of Castedo do Douro, on the right bank of the Douro, with south-facing sun exposure, the vineyards were planted in single-variety plots between 1991 and 1992.
  • Winemaking: The Piano Tinto grapes were harvested between the 3rd and 4th week of September, in 15-ton stainless steel fermentation tanks with temperature control. All varieties were vinified separately, the fermentation temperature was on average 28ºC and the fermentation took 10 days, followed by a further 5 days of post-fermentation maceration.
  • Tasting Notes: Deep ruby colour. Characterised by an intense and complex aroma dominated by ripe red fruits (blackcurrant and strawberry), black fruits (plum) and floral notes (orange blossom). Intense on the palate, with excellent volume, balanced acidity and good quality tannins. The finish is long and complex.
  • Maturation: After the malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in used barrels for 9 months. After this time, the wine is stabilized, followed by bottling and a 3-month ageing in the bottle.
  • Serve: Between 14ºC and 16ºC
  • Winemaker: Jorge Alves, Valter Silva and Fábio Pereira
  • Conservation: It is ready for immediate consumption, but has the potential to age for another 3 to 5 years in the best conditions. Store in the cellar with the bottle lying down.
  • Food Pairing: White meat dishes, pasta with cream and game dishes.
