Casal Sta. Marinha Chardonnay is a yellow wine with golden highlights. Aromatically, it presents notes of stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, accompanied by light citrus. The well-integrated buttery sensations, with hints of anise and vanilla, come from the barrel aging . The acidity is medium-high and accompanied by savory impressions, which are well balanced by the silky, full-bodied finish. The finish reveals some barrel notes that give it firmness and a good gastronomic character.

  • Soil: Grapes from the original vineyards, planted in 2006 by Mr. Barão Bodo von Bruemmer, located in Casal Sta. Maria, next to Praia da Adraga and in Galamares, all with very different characteristics.
  • Winemaking: The hand-harvested grapes underwent rigorous selection both in the vineyard and in the winery. After light crushing and 4 hours of skin maceration, they underwent static decantation for 48 hours.
  • Tasting Notes: A yellow wine with golden hues. Aromatically, it presents notes of stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, accompanied by light citrus. The well-integrated buttery sensations, with hints of anise and vanilla, come from the barrel aging. The acidity is medium-high and accompanied by savory impressions, which are well balanced by the silky, full-bodied finish. The finish reveals some barrel notes that give it firmness and a good gastronomic character.
  • Maturation: Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels with monthly bâtonnage.
  • Serve: Between 8ºC and 10ºC
  • Winemaker: Jorge Rosa Santos and Antonio Figueiredo
  • Conservation: To be opened between August 2022 and August 2028.
  • Food Pairing: Simple dishes, such as salads and grilled fish, to more elaborate preparations, such as pasta with white sauce and white meats.
