A journey through the Old Vineyards of Alentejo results in this unique Field Blend, where one part aged in French oak barrels and the other part fermented and aged in amphorae. This Rumo Incerto combines the certainty of a serious and well-made wine with the wild side of the Brettanomyces Dekkera yeast and shows that a defect can be a virtue.

  • Soil: Made from grapes grown in old Alentejo vines, carefully tended to produce quality wines. Poor granite soils and infertile rocky schist soils with low production quantities but where quality is the priority. Our grapes are also grown under a certified integrated production system.
  • Winemaking: The grapes were harvested and selected manually and after selection and crushing they were transported by gravity. The tank was filled by gravity. Spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Part of the grapes fermented and aged in old Alentejo amphorae and the rest in French oak barrels. Post-fermentation maceration for 2 months.
  • Tasting Notes: Concentrated ruby color, on the nose a touch of red fruits, some black pepper, leather. On the palate it is textured, fresh and tannic. Dry, austere and very long finish.
  • Maturation: Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels and 70% fermented and aged in Talhas for approximately 4 months.
  • Serve: Serve at 16ºC and drink at 18ºC
  • Winemaker: Antonio Maçanita
  • Conservation: Store at 12ºC
  • Food Pairing: It goes well with fatty meats, stewed or braised meat dishes, game dishes and strong cheeses.
