Technical Sheet
  • Soil: The grapes that give rise to this wine are a “field blend” from the highest old vines of Quinta dos Castelares, in Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in Douro Superior, at an altitude between 500-600 metres. With the aim of obtaining the necessary balance for a wine that we want to be full-bodied, but with an elegant profile. Schist soils, terraced vineyards with a dominant North-East orientation.
  • Winemaking: Manual harvest. Total destemming followed by crushing. The grapes are fermented by grape variety and by vineyard plot, with the aim of selecting the best for a better final result. Fermentation in small capacity stainless steel tanks at 24ºC. Controlled and gentle maceration, with the aim of obtaining concentrated, aromatic and elegant wines.
  • Tasting Notes: Wine with an aroma of ripe red fruits, spices, violets, and rockrose, with elegant notes of vanilla. It is a very complex and elegant wine, with fine and firm tannins.
  • Maturation: 6 months in French (2/3) and American (1/3) oak barrels.
