  • Soil: The grapes come from a vineyard that is over 80 years old, with several flaws resulting from partial abandonment for some years. In an area of ​​intense exposure and with huge outcrops of schist on the surface where not a single herb remains.
  • Winemaking:
  • Tasting Notes: Deep ruby colour. Great complexity and aromatic freshness, with unusual (but typical of the Abandonado vineyard) balsamic and tarry notes, liquorice and black fruits.   • Maturation: Aged for 22 months in new barrels and two years in French and Portuguese oak barrels.
  • Serve: Between 16ºC and 18ºC. Decant 1 hour before serving.
  • Winemaker: Tiago Alves de Souza
  • Conservation: 25 to 30 years old.
  • Food Pairing: Roasted red meat, lightly caramelized, or with black fruit jelly. Portuguese “Azeitão” cheese or a traditional “Roquefort”.
