Somnium Red is a very concentrated wine on the nose, intense and expressive. On the palate, it reveals red and black fruits, such as raspberries, combined with floral notes. The tannins are present and give the wine an incredible structure. The wine is balanced by a strong acidity, making it very elegant.

  • Soil: The grapes come from old vines with a mixture of traditional Douro varieties, and they come from a plot of vineyards in the Cima Corgo subregion, in São João da Pesqueira.
  • Winemaking: The grapes are destemmed and trodden in wine presses for 8 to 10 days during fermentation. In the wine press, the wines are trodden by foot every night. The wines are then drained into used 225-liter French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation takes place.
  • Tasting Notes: It is a wine that is very concentrated on the nose, intense and expressive, peppery. On the palate it reveals red and black fruits, such as raspberries, combined with floral notes. The tannins are present and give the wine an incredible structure. The wine is balanced by a strong acidity, making it very elegant.
  • Maturation: Aged for 22 months in French oak barrels until the final blend is created, approximately one month before bottling.
  • Serve: Between 16ºC and 18ºC
