Piano Moscatel Douro Reserva is an intense reserve with the unique fragrance and complexity that only the great quality Douro Moscatels achieve when aged. Aged for 36 months in wood, the result is a complex, rich and noble wine. It has a beautiful golden yellow colour and presents a very intense aroma dominated by the noble oxidation of ageing in wood. The notes of orange jam, the floral notes characteristic of the grape variety, the exotic wood and the dried fruits characteristic of ageing stand out. Its maturation in wood has made the wine more complex, increasing its richness and nobility. In the mouth it is a wine with a good balance between acidity and sweetness, full-bodied and with good structure, with a long and delicate persistent finish.

  • Soil: Located in the heart of Cima-Corgo, in the parish of Alijó, on the right bank of the Douro, with west-facing sun exposure, on granite-schist transition soils at an average altitude of 600 m, the vineyards were planted in single-variety plots between 1991 and 1992.
  • Winemaking: The grapes for Piano Moscatel Douro Reserva were harvested between the 1st and 2nd week of September. The grapes were destemmed and vinified using the traditional Port Wine method. Fermentation, which transforms the natural sugar in the grapes into alcohol, takes place at controlled temperatures. Fermentation stops earlier than is usual for other Ports, which allows for a higher degree of sweetness.
