  • Soil: The Encruzado grape variety is exclusive to the Dão region. It is well-balanced and aromatic, and gives the wines great longevity. The plants grow on slopes between 350 and 400 metres above sea level. The vineyard is managed under an integrated protection programme, and the use of herbicides is prohibited. Weed control is carried out by tilling the soil. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness, which takes place in the second half of September.
  • Winemaking: This first production wine was vinified in stainless steel at 13ºC, with two thirds of it finishing fermentation in new French oak barrels, where it aged for 12 months.
