  • Soil: Vineyards around 15 years old. Volcanic soils, leptosols or andosols, with acidic pH.
  • Winemaking: The grapes were hand-harvested on Madeira Island and transported in 40kg boxes to Porto Santo Island. They were selected on a sorting table, and the whole bunch was pressed directly into settling tanks, with three fractions separated, without any use of SO2 until the end of fermentation, in order to allow pre-oxidation of the must and a fuller spontaneous fermentation. The must fermented in 500L stainless steel tanks and a 228L barrel, on total lees for 9 months.
  • Tasting Notes: Clean citrus yellow color. Fresh, mineral/volcanic aroma, with some tropical fruit. Tense attack, good freshness, with a lot of salinity present until the end.
  • Maturation: Aged for 9 months. 85% in horizontal stainless steel and 15% in new French oak barrels.
  • Serve: Between 11ºC and 13ºC
