Chão dos Eremitas Os Paulistas White 2022
At the foot of the Serra d'Ossa, lies this Chão dos Eremitas, a place where the Hermits of the Order of Saint Paul, the Paulistas, chose to plant their vineyards. Two streams bring rainwater from the mountains, keeping the soil cool in the torrid Alentejo heat. These vineyards were so important that a Papal Bull from 1397 exempted the Paulistas from taxes on the vineyards and reinforced their importance. This Paulistas Branco comes from a plot planted in 1969 in a co-planting method (mixed vineyard), revealing an Alentejo that has been lost in time. Citrine yellow in color and nose with notes of lime tree, citrus fruits, and some dried leaves. In the mouth it attacks with acidity, texture, and a lot of unctuousness. On the back, aromas are repeated, some dairy aromas, cream.
