Eremitas Antão do Deserto is a wine that comes from a medium-depth soil, with a micro-quartz fault throughout the plot, at an altitude of 350 metres.

  • Soil: The grapes come from vineyards on schist soil.
  • Winemaking: The grapes are crushed by foot in a “calcatórium” (granite basin) for 3 hours, followed by pressing in a vertical press. The must flows by gravity into cement vats in an underground cellar, with optimal natural temperature and humidity conditions. Spontaneous fermentation takes place without temperature control.
