  • Soil: The oldest vineyard at Herdade do Rocim has always been affectionately called “Olho de Mocho”, due to its abundance of this spontaneous flower, with the scientific name Tolpis barbata.
  • Winemaking: Hand-picked in 12 kg boxes on 24th September for Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira. After being kept in a cold chamber, the grapes were carefully selected on a vibrating sorting mat, followed by complete destemming and very light crushing of the berries. Fermentation in cement vats at controlled temperature for a period of 11 days.
  • Tasting Notes: Deep, concentrated ruby color. Very ripe black fruit. Notes of spices and mint. Elegant and structured palate. Firm tannins, austerity and freshness. Long and persistent finish.
  • Maturation: Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.
  • Serve: Between 16ºC and 18ºC
