Technical Sheet
  • Soil: Vineyards around 30 years old. Volcanic soils, leptosols or andosols, with acidic pH.
  • Winemaking: The grapes were hand-harvested on Madeira Island and transported in 40kg boxes to Porto Santo Island. They were selected on a sorting table, and the whole bunch was pressed directly into settling tanks, with three fractions separated, without any use of SO2 until the end of fermentation, in order to allow pre-oxidation of the must and a fuller spontaneous fermentation. The must fermented in 500L stainless steel tanks and a 228L barrel, on total lees for 9 months.
  • Tasting Notes: Clean citrine yellow color. Pure mineral aroma, citrine with notes of cherry. Tense attack, acid with very present salinity. Good persistence.
  • Maturation: Aged for 9 months. 88% in horizontal stainless steel and 12% in new French oak barrels.
  • Serve: Between 11ºC and 13ºC
