Cistus Grande Reserva Red is a clear and bright wine. Very deep cherry colour. Very intense nose with notes of ripe red and wild fruits, rockrose, light smoky notes and noble French oak woods. In the mouth it is powerful, enveloping and with good acidity. Firm and round tannins, mineral notes (schist) and a touch of dark chocolate. Very long finish. To drink now but with great ageing potential.

  • Soil: The grapes come from vineyards located in the Douro Superior.
  • Winemaking: The wine is made in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and uses a turbo-pigeur for pumping over, which allows for gentle extraction of tannins. After a short post-fermentation maceration, the wine is aged. Fined with egg whites and after a light filtration, the batch is bottled.
  • Tasting Notes: Clear and bright. Very deep cherry colour. Very intense nose with notes of ripe red and wild fruits, rockrose, light smoky notes and noble French oak woods.   • Maturation: Aged for 19 months in new French oak barrels.
